Works but falls short, July 12, 2009
Silent Comfort – says it all!, July 2, 2009This is a fantastic air purifier. I bought two of them to replace Oreck Tabletop XL Professional Air Purifiers (a complete waste of money). I use one of the Honeywell 18155 SilentComfort Permanent, True HEPA Air Purifiers in my bedroom and leave it on the high setting at all times. On this setting it is very quiet and doesn’t disturb my rest. On the lowest setting it is so quiet I cannot hear it. Since placing this unit in my bedroom I sleep straight through the night and I wake with clear sinuses and no congestion.
This unit draws the air in through the lower vents and expels clean air through the upper vents. The clean air that is realeased back into the room doesn’t create the cool draft that some of the other models do.
I do notice a slight difference in the dust level when I clean the room. However, every time I have to clean/replace the charcoal filter on this air purifier I’m amazed at the dust, cat hair and “stuff” that is trapped.
I don’t smoke, I do have three cats and have allergies to dust and pollen. These purifiers are truly a life saver!
